Our Ship Management is growing with new customers and to further strengthen our organization we are now searching for a Superintendent for permanent employment. The position is full-time and includes some travelling. The position is based in Stockholm, and we offer you the opportunity to work remotely to some extent. As Superintendent you will be a member of our technical team and be a key player in driving our work to provide safe and cost-efficient operations, helping ship owners to optimize when it is most efficient to do maintenance.

Some of your key responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily technical support for assigned vessels in Wallenius Marine Ship Management.
• Vessel performance, follow-up, maintenance, budget and forecast responsibility for assigned vessels.
• Primary contact with vessel owners and charterers operators.
• Work in accordance with our ISM and Maintenance system.
• Carry out Superintendent inspection on assigned vessels.
• Booking of docking slots and be responsible for docking of assigned vessels.
• Conduct and/or initiate technical analyses and investigation as per needed.
• Participate in various environmental and fuel saving projects.
• Follow the technical development in the market and ensure that our company’s high goals are fulfilled.
• Participate in contract negotiations with service and spare part suppliers as needed.
• Keeping in contact with our major suppliers of machinery equipment.
• Support and motivate the crews to obtain a safe, environmentally efficient, and cost-efficient operation of the vessels.
• Support the purchasing process between assigned vessels and purchasing team.
• Support HR in personnel matters when appropriate.

Who are you?

We are looking for a person that holds a diploma in Marine Engineer, master’s degree, or equal education at College/University level. Preferably you have several years of experience of maintenance and operation of vessels, you are also able to coordinate the company’s high demands on quality, safety & environmental issues daily. Experience of financial budget and follow-up understanding is crucial for this position as well as extensive leadership experience.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have effective communication skills, be able to work independently as well as part of a team, including communication with both vessels, charter, and external partners. Our working language is English which means that you need to be able to communicate in English, both in speaking and writing, including technical terms. High level of proficiency in Swedish is also a merit. We also require a good understanding and knowledge of the MS Office software, accounting software and fleet management software.
