Senior Software Engineer

At Refined, we are on a mission to reimagine the user experience for business software to make it accessible to more people, for more purposes. Our product is a codeless site builder that turns Atlassian Confluence and Jira into custom intranets, documentation sites, support desks and more.

As a Senior software engineer you will be building features to help our customers customize and create an engaging end-user experience in Confluence. Your work will impact thousands of users around the world, ranging from people in tiny startups to global enterprises.

You will be joining one of our cross-functional teams, where you will play a crucial role in scaling and enhancing one of our best-selling products. As we have recently split and restructured our teams, you couldn’t ask for a better time to join, as we are re-evaluating certain aspects of our tech stack and addressing challenging questions to ensure our technology and stack remains future-proof. We put a lot of focus on quality and we take pride in things we ship out to customers. We work with realistic goals and don’t rush releases out the door. We aim to do things well.

Our stack

Our tech stack is JavaScript-based, with Vue.js in the frontend and Node.js in the backend. We expose REST API endpoints, and we use Postgres as our persisting layer.

What you’ll need to succeed in this role

Soft skills

  • Humble, curious, and adaptable with strong communication skills.

  • Demonstrate structured thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Show proficiency in leading and mentoring other team members.

    Technical skills

    We are looking for someone with 4+ years working as a full-stack developer. You will have experience with:

    • JS-based front-end frameworks such as React and Vue.js
    • Node.js
    • Relational databases (We use PostgreSQL)
    • Working with REST APIs, adhering to best practices
    • Experience with Heroku, AWS and IaC is a bonus

    You are an advocate for following industry standards and best practices when it comes to code quality, security, bundling and performance.

    Our working language is English, other language skills are not required.
