At To The Sky we are working on an unannounced AA, stylized 3rd person action/adventure game. Developing in Unreal Engine, we are exploring new ways of building impactful visuals and wonderful worlds to explore.
The game is in the early days of development and you will be joining us in an exciting and influential phase.
As an animator you will work closely with designers, artists, and programmers, focusing on fusing gameplay and visuals to create something that feels great to play and brings life to our characters and worlds.

We are looking for an animator that is self-motivated, driven, and able to act on the direction set by department leaders.
You are also more than happy to share your own ideas, feedback and solutions with the team and help lead your colleagues with your skills.
General responsibilities and traits
You are an animator with experience working with game development and real-time game engines.
Creating customized rigs for characters and props to be used inside the game engine. Joints, IKs, constraints and controllers.
Implementing the animations inside the engine using state machines, animation blueprints and control rigs to bring characters to life.
Creating stylized animation, where realism meets extraordinary to achieve believable animations that entice and create impactful movement.
You have a good understanding of creating, managing, and implementing assets into Unreal.
You have an understanding of asset performance and optimization for games.
You have good eye for interpreting references and concept art.
You are able to produce assets on your own from start to finish.
You are great at both quick and dirty prototypes and highly polished final art.
You have hands-on experience within Unreal, usage of blueprints, state machines and implementation of animations into the engine.
5+ years of experience in Maya.
3+ years of experience in Photoshop and Unreal Engine.
2+ years of experience in animation, preferably a full production pipeline.
At least one full game production cycle under your belt. From concept to shipped product.
Solid knowledge in highly dynamic and extreme body movements.
Interest in martial arts, dancing, parkour and other forms of explosive and expressive body mechanical movements is a big plus.
2D animation experience.
Scripting using e.g. MEL or Python.
Experience in other relevant software such as:
Zbrush, Substance, Blender, Houdini, Marvelous Designer, After Effects, Source control
As a member of the core team, being able to consistently work from our Gothenburg office is a huge plus. We feel that in the formative stage of game development, being able to share a physical space is crucial of creativity and communication.
Who we are
To The Sky was founded in Sept 2021 and has its main office in Gothenburg, Sweden.
We develop games for PC and console using Unreal Engine 5 to power our ambitions. But we are not all about development, building a great studio culture and workplace is core to who we are and what we want to achieve.
As a team we stem from various AAA backgrounds and joined together to create the kinds of games we would love to play. We are currently working on an action/adventure title in its early stages.
