Head of Architecture and Development – Data Platform Sweden
We are looking for a Head of Architecture & Development to join our Data Platforms unit in Sweden. As the leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of developers who are part of various development teams across multiple business areas and countries. In addition to your managerial duties, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our culture and driving our ongoing transformation efforts.
Data Platforms is a service line within Tietoevry Industry, encompassing five Business Units that operate in diverse markets across multiple countries. Our services are utilized by over 4500 customers. While our primary focus is the Nordic countries, we have plans to expand our services globally.
As a Unit, we have a total of 450 team members organized into five Business Units and four Horizontals, located in different countries such as Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, Czechia, Latvia, and India.
As a Head of Architecture & Development your mission is to:
  • Lead and oversee a team of developers in Sweden, providing guidance and direction to ensure efficient and high-quality work processes.
  • Develop and nurture the skills and capabilities of the team members, fostering their professional growth and success.
  • Collaborate closely with the development teams associated with each developer, understanding their needs, and providing support and resources as required.
  • Play a pivotal role in the overall leadership team for Architecture & Development, contributing to the development and implementation of a positive and collaborative work culture.
  • Actively participate in the ongoing transformation efforts towards adopting more modern and agile ways of working, leveraging the SAFe framework as a basis for these changes.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and coach the team of developers to achieve common goals and success.
  • Manage and develop work processes and guidelines to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Identify and support individual development needs of team members, including implementing training plans and mentorship.
  • Foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the unit.
  • Evaluate and recruit new talents to strengthen the team and meet competency needs.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of work and efforts.
  • Effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including presentations, reports, and meetings.
  • Monitor and drive the implementation of best practices in agile and software development.
  • Actively participate in the ongoing transformation of work methods and culture within the organization.
  • Promote and support the transition to agile practices and the utilization of the SAFe framework.
  • Manage resistance and address change-related issues within the unit.
  • Be responsible for achieving and exceeding set goals and key performance indicators for the Architecture & Development unit.
  • Monitor and analyze performance against financial, time, and quality measures.
  • Take action to ensure continuous improvement and delivery of high-quality solutions.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership experience in driving IT units or departments
  • Excellent IT delivery and management skills.
  • Proficiency in developing business processes and implementing organizational changes.
  • Strong team player with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to create high-performing teams and foster cooperation and communication.
  • Effective coaching and communication skills across different domains.
  • Fluency in English and Swedish.
