About Protas
Formed in 2020, Protas is an independent, not-for-profit organisation with a mission to reduce the burden of common disease worldwide through smarter clinical trials. Led by a team of experts, we’re enabling the development of better treatments for common diseases so that we can improve patient care and public health outcomes, and more people around the world can live healthier lives. We work with partners globally to design and deliver large, randomised clinical trials of treatments for common and other life-threatening diseases. Protas is headed up by the epidemiologist and physician, Prof Sir Martin Landray, who has over 20 years’ experience at Oxford University leading large-scale trials. Most recently, he co-led the landmark RECOVERY trial into treatments for COVID-19, which identified that treatment with the inexpensive steroid drug, dexamethasone, improved the chances of survival for the most severe cases and is credited as having saved thousands of lives. Protas is an incredibly rewarding place to work where you’ll be surrounded by supportive colleagues who are experts in their own field of excellence. It’s an exciting time to join us.
About the role
As our Marketing & Communications Manager you will develop and execute strategic activities with a particular focus on enabling Protas’ clinical trials and growing our brand. You’ll manage the marketing and communications requirements of our clinical trials, to support their efficient and effective delivery, in a way that prioritises the experience of trial participants and those set to benefit from our trials. You’ll also grow the Protas brand through creative and strategic multi-channel campaigns, proactively achieving positive reputation, credibility and trust for Protas, and engaging with audiences so that they understand, adopt and start to advocate for our way of doing things.
About you
You have considerable and varied experience of planning and managing marketing and communications activities, either in-house or at an agency, alongside demonstrable experience of working on multi-faceted, strategic campaigns that have influenced different audiences. You are skilled at managing different marketing and communications channels, including a company’s website and social media accounts, as well as being adept at producing high-quality, audience-led content. Ideally you also have experience of working within a clinical trial, life sciences and/or healthcare setting, and an understanding of engaging with people from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.
