Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Quantitative Developer to join our Forecasting Team. You will be part of a small but growing team of data scientists and analytics engineers that specialize in predicting the outlook of the Spotify business. This is a highly impactful role where you will be supporting the development and direction of the in-house user and content forecasting system, using large scale data from across the organization to deliver accurate impact estimates on a global scale for senior business partners

What You’ll Do

  • Actively support and enhance the backend of our forecasting system, contributing to its robustness and scalability. This involves collaborating closely with data scientists and engineers on a quantitatively complex codebase to enhance system architecture and performance, as well as to integrate new features.
  • You will support the development of a comprehensive web portal that facilitates access to our forecasting tools, ensuring our internal teams can make data-driven decisions with ease. Additionally, you will manage our cloud-based compute resources, focusing on performance and scalability to efficiently leverage cloud technologies for optimal data processing capabilities.
  • Who You Are

  • Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Python is essential. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desirable, as it is our primary cloud service provider. Additionally, prior experience with SQL is advantageous.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative skills and familiarity with statistical concepts and numerical analysis are crucial due to the complexity of our systems.
  • Experience: At least 2+ years of experience working with Python on a daily basis.
  • Mindset: Possesses excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, coupled with a passion for innovative problem-solving and a drive to think outside the box in a team-driven environment
  • Where You’ll Be

  • For this role, there will be some in-person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come into the Stockholm office 2-3 times per week.
