Responsibilities (short term)
- Work with quaternions, rotation matrices, and advanced mathematical models to improve accuracy in digital representations of the environment.
- Design and implement multiple ways of calibrating new types of machines, attachments and tools.
- Implement algorithms that process IMU, GNSS and other sensors data to accurately represent different types and layouts of machines.
- Optimize performance for real-time applications, ensuring accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
- Document and communicate complex mathematical and engineering concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with frontend, backend and embedded teams to enhance environmental perception and interaction.
Responsibilities (long term)
- Implement full and partial automations of different machines, such as an excavator’s tilt rotator and a dozer’s blade.
- Create algorithms that track machine usage and wear over time, using sensor data and find patterns in machine behavior.
- Integrate and fuse data from various sensors, including IMUs, LiDAR, depth cameras, drones, surveying and GNSS, to build reliable spatial models
- Design and implement scalable solutions for mapping real-world environments to digital constructs for real-time and offline use cases.
- Synchronize data across multiple devices and cloud solutions in real time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Robotics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience working with spatial computing, mathematical modeling, and sensor integration.
- Strong understanding of quaternions, rotation matrices, and 3D transformations.
- Experience with point cloud processing techniques and tools.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or similar languages for high-performance computing and numerical analysis.
- Hands-on experience with sensor technologies such as IMUs, LiDAR, cameras, and GNSS.
- Familiarity with SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) and real-time positioning algorithms.
- Experience with 3D engines (Unity, Unreal) or GIS systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in robotics, automation, or autonomous systems.
- Experience with machine learning techniques for sensor data processing.
- Understanding of real-time optimization for embedded or high-performance computing systems.
- Experience with machine control systems.
- Experience with point clouds or voxels to generate accurate topographic maps.
