Juanes@Red ***Mainframe Experts (z/OS SysProg / DB2 SysProg / MQ SysProg) – 6 months + ext. – Fully Remote***

On behalf of one of our key partners, RED is seeking three distinct, highly skilled technical specialists—a Core z/OS System Programmer, a DB2 System Programmer, and a Senior MQ System Programmer—to join an established mainframe infrastructure team. Together, you will take ownership of maintaining, securing, and modernizing one of Sweden’s most critical financial market IT infrastructures.

Each project is planned for 1 year with an initial contract running for 6 months, offering excellent opportunities for long-term extension.

Working Model: Fully Remote.

The Roles We Are Looking For:

1. Core z/OS System Programmer

Focuses heavily on the foundation of the mainframe environment, taking responsibility for the base operating system, subsystem initializations, and deep infrastructure configuration.

• Key Tasks: Operating system upgrades, RSU deployments, capacity monitoring, and system tuning.
• Core Requirements: 5+ years as a Core z/OS SysProg with expert knowledge of SMP/E, HCD/IODF, JES2/JES3, SMS, WLM, and security architectures (RACF/ACF2).

2. DB2 System Programmer (SysProg)

Serves as the primary expert responsible for the stability, availability, and long-term strategic evolution of the database software layer.

• Key Tasks: Driving the Mainframe DB2 Technology roadmap, executing major DB2 version upgrades, and optimizing database performance for large-scale datasets.
• Core Requirements: Strong hands-on experience with Db2 for z/OS as a system programmer/administrator, SMP/E proficiency, and experience managing DB2-related third-party (ISV) software.

3. Senior MQ System Programmer (SysProg)

Centers on the critical middleware layer, ensuring seamless, highly secure messaging and data transfer across internal and external applications.

• Key Tasks: Handling running maintenance and version upgrades (RSUs) for MQ on z/OS, and managing certificate PKI, ciphers, and key encryption layers.
• Core Requirements: Comprehensive MQ on z/OS system programming skills, software maintenance via SMP/E, and strong expertise in encryption and security key/certificate renewals.

English speaking is an absolute must.

General Nice-to-Haves:

• Financial sector background or experience with financial market infrastructure.
• Knowledge of z/OS Unix System Services (USS).
• Familiarity with cross-subsystem tools (e.g., IBM CDC for replication, MQ on Windows, or automation tools like SA z/OS).
