Requirements

  • PhD in relevant subject area
  • At least two peer-reviewed original scientific publications as first or last author
  • PhD awarded no more than 7 years before application deadline
  • Research in neuroscience broadly defined: molecular, cellular, genetic, circuit, systems, computational, or cognitive neuroscience
  • Animal models or human research welcome
  • Innovative experimental, computational, or technological approaches encouraged

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead independent research programme in neuroscience
  • Recruit and mentor doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers
  • Apply for external research funding from national and international sources
  • Publish high-quality work in leading journals
  • Engage in collaboration within department and internationally
  • Contribute to doctoral and postdoctoral supervision
  • Participate in educational activities (limited teaching obligations)
  • Complete 3 weeks of higher education pedagogical courses within 2 years
