A senior opportunity to lead product strategy and execution for Vision & Driver Assistance at Stoneridge Electronics.

Stoneridge Electronics is now seeking a new Director to lead Product Line Vision & Driver Assistance for Trucks & Buses. A role that offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of an innovative product portfolio and work with a global team to deliver products that redefine safety in the commercial vehicle industry. The director will play a key role in shaping the future of the product line and delivering long-term value to OEMs and other key customers.

Stoneridge Electronics represents around 65-70 % of total sales and employs 2,000 people globally. The division focuses on delivering cutting-edge technologies in driver assistance, vision systems, and vehicle connectivity solutions for commercial vehicles. As Product Line Director, you will report to Divisional Product Line VP, who is part of the Divisional management team.

As Product Line Director you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the product line, from strategy to execution, leading a global team to ensure market-leading solutions. You will lead a team of Product Managers and Program/Project Managers, both direct (5) and indirect/dotted line (9), with team members located in Sweden, the US, Estonia, the Netherlands, and Mexico.

Having recently launched new innovative products for OEM customers, the product line is now ready to scale up production, requiring strategic development to improve cost efficiencies while maintaining high quality. This transition requires a strong leader who can drive change, optimize product development processes, and lead the shift towards a more cost-efficient, competitive, and customer-focused operation.

The preferred location for this position is in Sweden, either Stockholm, Gothenburg, or Örebro, though other locations in Sweden could be considered based on the candidate’s background. The role requires travel both within Sweden and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the strategy for Vision & Driver Assistance product line – Trucks & Buses
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the product line, from ideation to commercialization, driving innovation and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and collaboration with other functions like engineering, R&D, marketing, operations, sales etc, to ensure the successful development and delivery of products.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with OEMs and key customers to ensure the product line meets market needs and expectations.
  • Manage the P&L for the product line, ensuring financial targets are met, including revenue growth, cost management, and profitability.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements in ADAS, vision systems, and vehicle connectivity to ensure Stoneridge maintains a competitive edge and continuously assess the market and competitor landscape.

What We’re Looking For:

Stoneridge is looking for an experienced leader with a proven track record in product management. The ideal candidate has a background in automotive technology, likely from a Tier 1 supplier environment

  • + 10 years of experience in product management, particularly within automotive or/and electronics, including product discipline and processes, and a knowhow of automotive core tools such as PPAP, APQP.
  • Solid experience from both direct and direct leadership, with the experience to lead international teams
  • A strong track record of successfully executing product strategies and managing the P&L for product lines.
  • We see that you have an academic degree in a relevant field for the role, or similar relevant experience.
  • Fluency in English is a requirement; knowledge of other languages is considered a plus
