About the role

As the Head of IT at Mercedes-Benz Finans you will play a central role in utilizing technology to drive business value and aligning IT initiatives with the organization’s goals. This position is critical for shaping the organization’s digital strategy and ensuring that technology investments support and enable business growth. We implement and develop projects and changes, as well as ensuring life-cycle-management activities for our local systems.

You have a team of 9 direct reports and the responsibility for the local systems. Furthermore, you are in charge of the project portfolio for the Swedish and Danish market and also the information security aspects for the system landscape.

You represent IT in the local management team for Mercedes-Benz Finans Sweden and Denmark. You will be based in the office in Malmö and report to our CIO Global Markets in Stuttgart.

Key Tasks:

  • Lead the team – develop, coach and retain highly motivated people.
  • Collaborate with the local management and other stakeholders to evaluate and leverage the benefits and risks of IT projects, including keeping the project portfolio priorities up to date.
  • Ensure that IT strategies and processes are in line with company-wide goals and objectives.
  • Oversee relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure effective partnerships and service delivery.
  • Take responsibility for information security and cyber risks, and with the help of the subject matter experts ensure that our systems are robust and safe.
  • Manage the global IT budget effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation.

Your background

To be successful in this position we believe you have experience from a similar background with preferably more than 10 years of experience within IT, with at least 5 years’ experience of managing an IT organization. You have strong leadership, presentation and communication skills and experience from working in an international environment.

Furthermore, you have:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or another relevant domain
  • Management experience in IT
  • Proficiency in project methodology, and leading change
  • Strong skills in vendor management, legal requirements, and compliance
  • Knowledge of IT strategy, enterprise architecture, and security architecture


The role requires limited travel, with occasional trips to our office in Copenhagen and sometimes in Europe.

We work in a hybrid model, which means a possibility to partly work from home.
