Your Profile
We are looking for a Manager for the group Field Quality Purchasing and Cost recovery within the department of Supplier Quality. You will be responsible to lead and support a team of six field quality purchasers and one cost recovery coordinator who are responsible for ordering design improvements from our global supplier base and coordinating field cost recovery activities when suppliers have failed to deliver according to specification. With a balance of quality, cost focus, and speed, the team secures quality-improving design changes for the complete Scania portfolio.
You will be heading a diverse, skilled, and dedicated team of engaged purchasers from several different nationalities, where our diverse competencies are part of our success. We have a great team spirit and support each other.
The complete team is located in and working from the Scania Purchasing office in Södertälje. We are in a modern work office landscape with the possibility to work from home some days of the week.
Main tasks
As Manager of Field Quality Purchasing, your focus is to create the prerequisites for your team to succeed in an evolving and complex environment. You, and your team, secure the introduction of quality improvement design changes at the right cost and capacity levels.
You will represent your team, the department, Purchasing, or Scania on various occasions and in a global environment, e.g. in process development meetings in TRATON Group. You will coach your colleagues and team members in day-to-day challenges and their personal development.
Since we work with all physical products that Scania offers on the market a good general technical understanding of both product and suppliers’ production processes is needed as well as commercial skills.
Your work includes plenty of interactions internally, within the VW group, with suppliers and cross-functionally and hence important that you naturally collaborate with others, build trust, and are clear in communication. Good language skills in English is a must and Swedish is considered a merit.
You will be part of our management team responsible for supplier audits, supplier quality engineers in production units, and the escalation team.
