Global Social Media Manager

About the role

As Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of our social media strategy globally, and collaborating with the regions on a regional level. Your overall objective will be to drive brand awareness and grow the follower base, as well as drive the audiobook category. In this role, you will set the direction for Storytel’s social presence, community management, social listening, objectives and KPIs.

This position is a part of the global Marketing organization and works in close collaboration with the regions and cross-functionally with many parts of our matrix organization.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to engage our audience, aligning with business goals.

  • Interpret and develop Storytel’s brand and tone of voice for social platforms. Ensure that we are consistently, creatively, and proactively engaging consumers, influencers, and advocates across social media to drive earned conversation and brand advocacy.

  • Develop and communicate social best practices across the organization and markets, to ensure alignment of the global strategies and the local relevance.

  • Collaborate with the rest of the marketing team, such as the paid digital team to ensure synergies between paid and organic.

  • Be a social evangelist in the business, helping influence the adoption of, and enthusiasm for, social media across the organization while keeping atop emerging technologies and trends.

  • Establish relevant metrics to map the impact of social media activities and amend strategies based on learnings and patterns

  • Ensure that we’re leveraging the best tools and technology to drive the strategy and enable analytics, community management, listening, and optimization.


  • 5-10 years’ experience in driving Social Media strategy, some preferably within a subscription, streaming and/or content-driven business.

  • Professional level in English, in both speech and writing.

  • International experience, working across several markets

  • A university degree in Business Administration or equivalent

This is you

  • Deep knowledge of, passion for, and experience managing social-media platforms, both established and emerging.

  • Proven experience in creating engaging content, a natural story-teller and visual communicator

  • A demonstrated ability to maintain and increase social audiences.

  • Commercially curious, with a test-and-learn approach.

  • Business acumen and results-driven; thrives in a fast-paced scale-up environment.

  • Highly collaborative and able to create impact across all parts of the organization
