Global Quality Manager (flexible location)

We are looking for a Global Quality Manager at Large Motors and Generators Division. In this position you will translate customer quality requirements into internal policies, procedures, and metrics during all process stages, including post-delivery of the products to customers. Together with regional quality teams, you will drive the quality aspects of Large Motors & Generators division through the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solution to problems, to achieve world class quality performance. The position can be located in Helsinki, Finland; Shanghai China; Västerås, Sweden or Vadodara, India. This position reports to Global Head of Operations, Large Motors and Generators. Willingness to travel is required (up to 10% or based on requirements).

Your responsibilities

• Drive the Large Motors & Generators in achieving 360-degree world-class quality performance and customer experience.
• Set, deploy and manage quality management framework, objectives and targets for the Large Motors & Generators business including the whole dimension of value chain in line with the business strategy.
• Focus on preventing issues rather than just controlling. Ensure the organization operates in alignment with division’s quality standards and policies.
• Perform and/or coordinate activities related to designated areas within Quality: customer & claims management, manufacturing quality, product safety & compliance, design & development quality, audits & reporting.
• Define and implement initiatives, targets and metrics, monitor performance accordingly and provide input for further development.
• Support the organization in achieving desired strategic and operational results by driving initiatives and synergies to improve on agreed aspects of quality, in close collaboration with regional units and across multiple units or functions as applicable.
• Network, develop and deploy quality related topics in collaboration with other ABB divisions.
• Lead quality and continuous improvement communities on global level
• Coach, train and support relevant process owners.

Your background

• Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 8-10 years of industry experience and minimum 5 years of progressive growth in Quality Management positions.
• Excellent knowledge of quality tools and processes, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black belt is an advantage.
• Technical knowledge of electronics and mechanics manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence in a cross-functional, matrix environment in international business.
• System thinker with capacity to communicate, result oriented, speed in execution, openness and listening to others.
• Customer-focused mindset.
• Fully comfortable in the Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerBI, etc.)
• Fluent in English, any other language is a plus.
