Protas is an independent not-for-profit organisation, designing and delivering large, global randomized clinical trials of treatments for common and other life-threatening diseases. Protas is led by the epidemiologist and physician, Professor Sir Martin Landray, who has over 20 years’ experience of leading large, randomized clinical trials as part of a team at Oxford University’s Nuffield Department of Population Health. Most recently, he has been co-leading the landmark RECOVERY clinical trial into treatments for COVID-19 which identified that treatment with the inexpensive steroid drug dexamethasone, improved the chances of survival for the most severe cases. About the role

As the Drug Supply Manager at Protas you will manage and deliver the activities relating to the supply of Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) for Protas’ trial portfolio, ensuring all processes comply with applicable regulations and are integrated with the overall portfolio management approaches. You will act as the operational lead for all aspects of the drug supply process, leading discussions and working closely with partners and suppliers to ensure efficient manufacture, and timely supply and delivery, of trial drugs and placebos. During the design stage of each trial, you’ll work collaboratively as part of the Trial Management Team and other key groups within Protas, and with our partners, to lead the development of a strategic IMP supply plan.

About you

You have worked within clinical trials managing the logistics involved with investigational medicinal product and the placebo for the trials. You have had previous involvement in the procurement/supplies field with extensive knowledge of IMP supply, customs processes and logistics relating to IMP shipments and you are familiar with regulatory submissions in relation to IMP.

Job Level: C – £50,000 per annum
