What you will do
As the Digital Product Owner for the Data Management Tool (DMT), you’ll drive the product vision, ensure alignment with strategy, and manage team backlog prioritization and delivery. Your expertise in Data Governance and Management, along with strong communication and analytical skills, will be vital for this role.
This requires knowledge and experience from Data Governance and Data Management, an analytical mindset, excellent structuring skills, as well as communication and stakeholder management skills, and a pragmatic can-do attitude to be part of and help drive the data transformation.
‘Data’ is a function within Volvo Digital & IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data, the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all the aspects of Data, how it is quality assured, documented, made available, prepared, and used through BI, Analytics and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation in front of us, with an implementation of the Data Layer in Azure as well as the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management in the full Group.
The ‘Data’ function is a large multi-cultural organization with 600+ employees and contractors located mainly in 7 countries – Sweden, Poland, India, Belgium, Brazil, USA, and France.
This is a Flexible position, and in this role, you will be joining as a Digital Product Owner for Data Management Tool in Gothenburg (Sweden), Lyon (France), Gent (Belgium) , Bengaluru ( India) or Wroclaw (Poland). Please mention the location while you apply.
You will be
- Supporting the team in creating product specifications.
- Assisting in organizing and prioritizing the product development backlog.
- Contributing to and championing the product vision.
- Providing necessary support to aid team delivery.
- Ensuring team development aligns with long and short-term plans.
- Continuously reviewing the digital product for improvement opportunities.
- Advising stakeholders on optimal use of the DMT.
- Coordinating with other internal Data Governance and Management products.
- Delivering foundational capabilities of the DMT for business use cases.
- Managing the technical roadmap and vendor liaising.
- Maintaining the DMT services catalog and providing usage advice.
- Handling functional aspects of Data Governance.
- Providing technical maintenance and support.
- Monitoring platform SLAs.
- Supporting Data Management capabilities and best practices.
- Consulting on training plans and execution.
- Participating in user acceptance tests.
- Promoting usage and enrichment of the DMT.
- Collaborating with stakeholders for seamless onboarding.
- Upholding the value proposition throughout Agile delivery.
Required Competencies
- Documented experience in Data Governance & Management.
- Hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC or similar tools.
- Experience in team leadership.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in structuring and organizing.
- Ability to present ideas effectively.
- Preferably, experience in the Automotive Industry.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Understanding of both business and IT.
- Proficiency in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or similar.

This role requires a balance of in-office and remote work, with an expectation to be in the office three days a week.
