We are here to solve complexity, by connecting millions of flights and travelers across the globe, from search and selection to trip and beyond. We hold consumer online travel agency brands like Mytrip, GoToGate & Flight Network and serve exclusively Booking.com with flights. Etraveli Group has also established strategic partnerships with companies like Skyscanner, Google Flights, TUI, and more.

Every day, we work to make the world feel smaller for our customers and bigger for our team members. Our diverse team of over 2300 passionate professionals is what sets us apart as an industry tech wonder, and it’s what makes us the best in the world at what we do. With major offices in Sweden (HQ), Canada, Greece, India, and Poland, we’re a global force in the travel tech industry.

Life at Etraveli Group

We understand that personal and professional growth go hand in hand. At Etraveli Group, we’re committed to listening to your future career plans and inspiring you to be your best in a fast-paced industry. We create the perfect conditions for you to feel like a valued member of our team by providing ample work freedom, self-study time, recurring Hackathons, Dev weeks, and numerous other fun activities that foster a fantastic culture within your team and across the company.

About the Role

Our innovative IT DSR (Data Science and Research) team drives the transformation of our data platform. As we replace our existing infrastructure and integrate with broader data warehouse initiatives, we are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator with a focus on DataOps, to play a pivotal role in shaping our evolving data landscape.

As our new Data Engineer for Data Operations you will be providing crucial technical support to our Data Engineers and other DSR team members developing the data platform used by solutions for Sales and Fintech departments. In this pivotal role you will work in close collaboration with our SysOps, Platform and Data Warehouse team. You will contribute to strengthening our delivery capabilities and subsequently meeting the growing demands of our dynamic data infrastructure. You will also play a crucial role in mentoring junior team members, promoting best practices in data engineering, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

In this role you will

  • Integrate, implement and maintain our new on-prem data platform: being responsible for implementing and managing systems on it that collect, process, store and analyse data
  • Support deploying and managing the infrastructure that supports the data platform. Troubleshoot and manage our kubernetes based platform as well as our installed Data Engineering services
  • Continuously monitor the data platform for performance issues, bottlenecks, or errors and optimising it accordingly
  • Implementing and monitoring security measures to protect data against unauthorised access, breaches, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
  • Support Data Engineers in developing and managing pipelines for Extracting, Transforming, and Loading (ETL) data from various sources
  • Offer technical support to data users across the organisation and collaborating with other teams

Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar profiles within a kubernetes environment
    • Proven experience with administering and maintaining big data processing and distributed systems like Spark, Zookeeper and Kafka
    • Experience with Kubernetes and other Cloud Native products in on-prem clouds or AWS
    • Proficiency in monitoring tools and platforms that track the health and performance of our data platform, like Prometheus, Grafana and Kibana
    • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools such as Airflow or Nifi
    • Experience with object storage  systems such as S3, Swift and Ceph
    • Understanding of DevOps principles and technologies, such as CI/CD in Jenkins, Harness or ArgoCD, containerization (docker) and infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform or Pulumi)
    • Exposure to analytics platforms like Dremio/Trino and the Iceberg table format
    • Exposure to programming Scala and Spark is a merit
    • Exposure to administrating ETL tools
    • Professional command of English, while Swedish will be considered a bonus
    • University degree in a STEM discipline is also a merit

Benefits

At Etraveli Technology, you will be part of a gang of +150 people, all with different cutting-edge skills and personalities. We believe that it is precisely the differences that make us a good team because we share the same ambition – we strive for the same goals, are passionate about what we do and work hard.

Etraveli Group is a company that really wants to contribute to you reaching your full potential.

  • Our brand new office is located in central Gothenburg, a stone’s throw from public transport and lunch restaurants.
  • We love gaming and after work activities.
  • We know the value of personal development and continuous training.
  • Hackathons and Dev Weeks – We believe in promoting creativity and trying new things. That’s why we have recurring Hackathon and Dev weeks where the teams decide what they want to work on.
  • Wellness allowance – Each employee receives a maximum allowable amount each year according to the Swedish Tax Agency to spend on health-promoting activities.
  • Through partners, we offer comprehensive pension and health insurance so that you can quickly get help if the accident occurs.
  • We have a hybrid working model so once you are onboarded you have the flexibility to work from home two days a week.
  • And we serve breakfast every morning.
