If so, we have a freelance/contract opportunity for a Senior Lighting Artist to join a talented Irish studio, helping them set the tone for their upcoming FPS!

Mission brief:
Shape the Visual Identity:
- Take ownership of lighting across the entire game world, ensuring characters, environments, and weapons shine
- Collaborate closely with the Art Director and Lead Artist to establish a cohesive visual style that captivates the players
Embrace Creative Challenges:
- The game takes place in a captivating dusk/evening setting. Your expertise will be crucial in creating the perfect lighting balance!
- Help the studio overcome visual clarity hurdles. Lighting needs to ensure players can effortlessly identify in-game clues for a seamless gaming experience
Details:
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: 3 months
- Occupance rate: 100% assignment
- Level: Senior
- Work set-up: Remote from within Europe
Note: this is a requirement from the studio, meaning candidates outside of Europe will not be considered for this particular assignment.
Your player profile:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the games industry working as a Lighting Artist in the Unreal Engine
- You have a track record of working on a AAA game in a production environment
- A full understanding of real-time lighting pipelines, including areas such as tone mapping and post-processing
- A solid understanding of the contribution of lighting to both gameplay and scene composition
- Your portfolio reflects high-quality game lighting, preferably in a similar kind of environment described above
Bonus:
Experience with UE5’s Lumen system
