Chief Financial Officer Nordics Region

As a CFO you lead the financial team (20+) that works together to provide first class support to business decision-making by offering sound strategic financial advice that is aligned with the country’s and DLL’s business objectives, while ensuring the in-control state of all business entities in the countries. He / She acts as a key management team member and reports to the CEO for the Nordics region, but also works closely together with other functional disciplines, as well as with North Region and business unit finance leaders, DLL’s Group Finance and Control and other relevant stakeholders. Finance is based in Stockholm, centralized from there.


Day to day:

  • Leads and manages the country’s finance function with its vendor finance portfolio in an effective and efficient way and within corporate and divisional standards and policies.
  • Proactively contributes to the formulation of strategy and the business plan of the country organization, supports these by financial projections and translates these to annual plans for own department.
  • Plans, organizes, co-ordinates and supports the business in financial budgeting and forecasting processes, while ensuring that plans, budgets, and forecasts are always timely, reliable, focused and relevant for business decision-making.
  • Monitors, reports, and challenges business performance against budgets and forecasts, as well as against competitors’ performance.
  • Provides analytical support to business management to enable understanding of business dynamics and ensures that analysis mostly looks forward, focusing on performance gaps or opportunities.
  • Supports mergers and acquisitions, divestures, and other major business decisions.
  • Ensures reliable and timely financial transaction processing and financial reporting to the parent company and meets all local statutory, tax and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Safeguards sound financial and operational internal control environment.
  • Organizes and ensures compliance with corporate and external policies, laws, and regulations, including local tax and accounting laws and DLL’s finance, control, tax and treasury policies.
  • Provides effective liaison and maintains constructive working relationships with internal and external auditors, local (tax) authorities and other supervisory bodies.
  • DLL Sweden is regulated by the Swedish FSA and hence number of reporting requirements in the year and as there is a banking license, the regulatory team will report into the CFO. First line responsibility and will work with the Risk domain throughout the year in respect to this and the regulations. Outside Sweden also have specific local regulatory requirements (managed by the regulatory team reporting to the CFO).
  • Ensures excellent technical financial, accounting and control knowledge within the finance team, with clear focus on both matching the needs of the business as well as remaining ‘in control’.
  • Ensures that the performance targets of the finance function are directly linked to business performance and are in line with annual plans and budgets, as well as with corporate and divisional guidelines and policies.
  • Closely monitors the execution of annual plans and intervenes when required.
  • Conducts performance improvement programs specific to the finance discipline (both local and international) and embeds performance culture within the local finance organization.
  • Respectful of diversity in competence, experience, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Able to develop and actively maintain positive working relationships with corporate and divisional leaders, peers, and direct reports.
  • Support and initiate process improvements and projects to help to improve the result or
  • Support the translation of strategic plans into steering requirements and performance targets.
  • The finance team is responsible for month end closing process including reporting towards the parent
  • First point of contact for the external auditor for all audit related topics

Essentials:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Accounting and/or Controlling..
  • 10+ years’ experience gained in the financial domain of a customer driven international financial service organization.
  • Experience in a managerial role
  • Solid knowledge of local statutory requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”), Basel, SoX.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience in an international matrix organization.
  • Proven ability to motivate diverse teams and build bridges between different business functions.
  • Excellent influencing skills, initiative, assertiveness, and decisiveness.
  • Empathic and good at building relationships.
  • Interaction with others demands influencing and persuasion in a tactful manner and with understanding of cultural and business differences as well as corporate political sensitive issues.
  • Competence in change management.
  • Spoken and written fluency of Swedish and English is crucial
