About the team

Our Finance team, consisting of our CFO, Head of Accounting and an Accountant collaborates closely with all departments to ensure the organization’s financial health and stability. They provide insightful analysis and forecasts, oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, and prepare comprehensive financial reports. Additionally, they ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, manage financial risks, and foster cross-functional collaboration to align financial strategies with business objectives.


What you will do

As a Business Controller at Aarke, you will report directly to the CFO. You will play a crucial role in driving the financial success and profitability of our organization. You will be responsible for financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure financial transparency, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to the achievement of our business goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights on business performance across the company, e.g. commercial-, logistics-, strategy departments, and management.
  • Together with the CFO, lead the quarterly forecast process and annual budget. Help develop and maintain tools and processes for such forecasts.
  • Prepare accurate and timely management accounts (the Aarke Monthly Financial Report package) and other recurring and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Work closely with the commercial team and the logistics team to secure efficiency in work processes, provide templates, and drive cross-department success.
  • Identify other process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.


Who are you?

For success in this position, we believe you have a proven track record as a business controller in a product-based company. You possess strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset. That you have a “get stuff done”-attitude is given as well as the ability to work independently. Your motivation stems from continually improving processes and optimizing financial performance. You thrive in both practical tasks and strategic decisions, which align well with our fast-paced scale-up environment.


Profile

  • University degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • 5-10 years of experience as a Business Controller, Business Analyst or similar roles.
  • We would also find it meriting with a background from professional services, such as audit / assurance, management consulting, M&A and related fields.
  • Experience working in a product-based company, preferably a scale-up.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of business operations.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel. Experience in building robust and clear models and tools in Excel.
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence tools with a preference for experience in Power BI.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. Swedish can be beneficial but is not a requirement.
