2D Cable harness designer
The R&D group Harness Design Base Chassis focuses on harness design in trucks with conventional powertrains, including biodiesel/gas. We are looking to expand our team with a dedicated electrical designer who would like to help us develop the best electrical system in the business.
We offer you a position where you can develop yourself, your design, and your electrical skills. You will be given a vast knowledge of Scania’s modular toolbox, working with many different truck specifications.
Your tasks
As a cable harness designer, you will be working on both our future vehicles and within our current product portfolio. Your involvement in product development projects will span all stages, from concept development to industrialization and maintenance.
We are seeking a cable harness designer who will be engaged in projects related to both our upcoming vehicles and our existing product range. Your role will encompass various aspects of product development, ranging from conceptualization to industrialization, as well as ongoing maintenance.
You’ll assume control of multiple electrical systems, handling tasks such as creating schematics, documenting, improving systems, and solving issues. Involvement in several ongoing projects, overseeing your systems from their inception to their completion, will be part of your role.

Collaborating closely with your design team, you’ll actively engage in daily planning, search for enhancements, and strive to streamline processes while maintaining high standards of quality and quantity. Your duties will expand beyond your immediate team. You’ll cooperate cross-functionally with mechanical designers, procurement specialists, production engineers, suppliers, project managers, and others, ensuring the delivery of top-notch, innovative solutions to our valued customers.
Moreover, you’ll maintain consistent communication and collaboration with our counterparts in the Scania Latin America design group, situated in Brazil.
Your profile
We are looking for you that:
- Have a university degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar.
- Have an interest in product development.
- Have experience in cable harness design.
We believe that collaboration is key to success and therefore your collaboration and teamwork skills are of great importance, as well as your ability to keep calm in a flexible environment. In addition, we work in a truly global environment with daily contact and collaboration with colleagues in Brazil and India, therefore excellent English communication skills are required.
Meritorious if you previously have worked within the automotive industry, with the IT systems Saber or Siemens Capital, or understand/speak Swedish.

Full-time assignment situated in Södertälje with the possibility to work a few days a week from a home office.
