Insights from the team

Our Derp team, led by a Product Owner and Engineering Manager, focuses on the development and execution of company processes for Release, Change request, Problem, and Configuration management, as well as automizing the release reports and quality assurance of the product. Comprising of Process and Python developers, we handle the prerequisites, execution, and maintenance of these processes and tools.

Your mission and day-to-day tasks

The role as a Systems Engineer for our software requirement traceability tool, has the main responsibility of securing the correct implementation of our requirement traceability model between our Feature Design and our software documentation and implementation. This requirement handling tool also have numerous quality assurance reports and KPIs generated out from it, assisting the company keep track of the overall release readiness and quality of the product.

Typical tasks on a day to day include:

• Requirement Traceability Tool (Doorstop)
  • Analyze potential updates to the tool to ensure it fits the company’s traceability model
  • Be part of discussions in regards to the requirement traceability model
  • Further develop the tool itself
  • Provide support to it’s users

• Release- and quality assurance automation
  • Refining and updating the traceability- and test reports
  • Refining how to best communicate and visualize the current status

Qualifications & experience

Essential experience

To thrive in this role, you should be a curious problem solver with a solid background in Systems Engineering and a great understanding of tool development in Python. You should excel in troubleshooting and take pride in your domain. Familiarity with Agile or Scrum frameworks is a plus, and you should value the power of teamwork.

In addition, we believe you meet the following requirements:

• Education in Software development, Software engineering, Computer science, or relevant higher education.
• 3+ years as a Systems Engineer
• 1+ year within Python development
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have

• SystemWeaver, Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, GoCD, Elastic/Grafana databases, MySQL databases, C++, Artifactory, Linux, .json, .xml, .html, Jfrog artifactory.
