For the Strategy and M&A team we’re now looking for a Strategy and M&A Manager who can contribute to advancing Seco Strategy as well drive the M&A agenda. About the job
In this role you are responsible for providing insights and suggestions to the senior leadership in defining Seco strategy, by assessing the competitive advantages/ gaps of Seco and bringing an outside-in perspective through markets/ competitors/ customers analysis and trends identification. You will be owning the M&A activities, from origination to execution of the deal as well having an active role in driving the strategic planning process – from design to execution – and oversee functional teams to develop detailed and granular plans. In this role you will be able to challenge the status quo and provide the right level of inspiration for stretching the reasoning beyond the comfort zone, as well support the development of the people in thinking strategically and with a wider view of the business. As Strategy and M&A Manager you are also in charge of preparing the supporting material/ formalizing the content for workshops and executive presentations, as well building fact-based and quantitative analysis to support the reasoning. You are also in charge for leading specific strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of long-term strategy by partnering with Seco team executives and functional team members
  • Guide senior executives in decision-making processes and suggest improvements to existing business strategies to drive growth and profitability
  • Lead end-to-end M&A activities, including target identification, screening, cultivation, due diligence, financial modeling, business case and negotiations; prepare presentation materials and lead internal reviews
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of companies acquired
  • Develop financial models to assess the impact of strategic initiatives and potential M&A transactions.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making processes and provide insights to senior leadership
  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, presenting findings, recommendations, and progress updates on key strategic initiatives
  • Identify and assess risks associated with strategic initiatives and M&A activities
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Drive the organization in defining priorities, resource allocation and investment plans considering multidimensional impacts beyond the near-term horizon
Location and travelling
Location for this role is flexible within our Seco offices in Europe. We also offer a hybrid workplace and the opportunity to work remotely. Business trips up to 30% are a natural part of the job.
Your profile
We’re looking for someone with a relevant Masters’ degree and at least 6 years’ seniority from a similar role. You also have experience in dealing with complexity, high analytical skills and natural leaning towards problem solving. You are comfortable in dealing with uncertainty and have a doer attitude. You are independent in overcoming ‘roadblocks’ and are proactive in finding solutions to problems. You can manage pressure and you are able to work by objectives with sense of urgency and pre-set delivery timelines.
Previous experience in a matrix organization and large companies/consulting firms would be a solid plus. You are fluent in English – both verbal and written – and you are strong team player who believes that the best result comes from collaboration. At the same time, you really enjoy working independently – digging deep into various data and taking new initiatives to solve problems. Your ability to network and communicate as well as change management skills makes it easy for you to build strong and trusting relationships across our organization.
