The role

We are looking for a full-time Spatial Designer Trainee for a one-year position to strengthen our Design & Range team in Stockholm. This role is ideally suited for someone taking a gap year from their studies or a recent graduate looking to kickstart their career in design.

As a Spatial Designer Trainee at NORNORM, you will become a vital part of our team, supporting us with the design of workspaces taking into consideration the fundamentals of the NORNORM design aesthetic. You will be instrumental in expressing the NORNORM point of view based on Nordic design principles focusing on functionality and simplicity.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Support the Design & Range team in the creative process
  • Support in the creation of a wide range of workspace layouts for various types of clients
  • Working closely with our sales, supply and customer support teams
  • Updating our 3D libraries to match our current ways of working
  • Attend client and project meetings where appropriate
  • Be in the know-how on industry changes and trends
  • Be the brand ambassador, making sure brand guidelines and principles comply

You will also be expected to:

  • Manage several projects simultaneously and prioritise accordingly
  • Identify improvements in our ways of working

You bring the following qualifications:

You are willing to work in a startup with a fast-paced environment and use your problem-solving skills when facing challenges. In addition, we value the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Proficiency in AutoCad LT, MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Google Drive
  • Being able to translate customer needs into spatial planning
  • Commercial thinking and good business judgment
  • A can-do mentality, persistence and a positive attitude
  • Organisational talent, ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
  • A high moral compass and a strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High proficiency in English (verbal and written)
  • Ideally based in Copenhagen or Stockholm or willing to relocate
  • Interest in office space design and circular business models
