POSITION SUMMARY

 

We are strengthening our R&D Team in Sweden and this is a hybrid position in Malmo.

 

As a Senior Software Developer, you will be included in the ongoing development, implementation, and enhancement of our market-leading Forwarding and Customs applications. You will be a member of the development team and will participate in the continuous improvement of our development life cycle, methodology, and tools. You will exchange knowledge and work efficiently in order to achieve your targets in a timely manner.  You will design, implement, and maintain accurate and concise technical specifications that meet the defined business objectives in order to support assigned business units and projects, both customer and product development. You will help clients with incidents and problems and assist 2nd / 3rd line support.  You will be part of the R&D team based in our Malmo, Sweden office and report directly to the Technical Product Manager.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and maintenance of our Transport Management and Customs applications.
  • Working with colleagues to define, design, code, and test quality applications.
  • Understands the strategic view of applications and;
  • Understands the importance of the supported business processes.
  • Promote an appropriate sense of urgency in regard to deliverables and projects.
  • Technical ownership for your application areas.
  • Understanding of customer problems and how to solve them effectively.
  • Create, revise, and maintain design/technical documents.
  • Comply with the Company’s policies relating to Source Control and progress reporting.

 

SKILLS AND ATTITUDE

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (Swedish and English)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction
  • Self-motivation
  • Diplomacy, adaptability, and reliability

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years .NET (C#/VB.NET) or equivalent experience.
  • Experienced with all aspects of the software development life cycle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or a solid background in an IT development environment.
  • Experience in creating and consuming web services.
  • Experience with security, encryption, and communication layers B2B.
  • Experience in creating multi-tenanted Software as a Service.

 

LOCATION

You will be based at our Descartes office in Malmo, Sweden. Remote working can be discussed.
