The job:
Are you experienced in project planning and project data analysis? We are seeking a well organized Project Portfolio Analyst to join our ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), with great passion for efficient project management. The primary goal of the position is to support our Project, Program and Portfolio Management tools and processes, associated reporting, dashboards, and data management. This position will support the identification and development of solutions and processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and make continuous improvements. You will also hold a key role in supporting the team to set project planning guidelines and analyse project data.
In the project management team we provide multi-functional project management support and in this role you will support colleagues across all departments in IDD with expertise in data analysis and project planning.
The successful candidate will possess strong critical thinking capabilities and will demonstrate solid analytical and collaboration skills. The ability to work effectively with colleagues across numerous business units will enable you to perform at your best.
This role will be office-based at our Uppsala, Sweden site, with flexibility to work from home one day per week. Very occasional international travel may be required (up to 10% per annum max), including overnight stays.

The ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD) develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and follow-up of allergy and autoimmune diseases. With 1,900 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in vitro IgE testing for allergy and also the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics. The allergy and autoimmunity product lines operate on a common automated instrument platform, Phadia Laboratory Systems, which supports both productivity and cost efficiencies in clinical laboratories around the world.
What will you do?
- Act as Superuser, administrator and IDD trainer for Thermo Fisher’s Project Management planning tool PPMPro
- Provide analysis on project performance and collect and present data to support project portfolio decision making
- Maintain, follow-up and report out project master data bank, resources planning files and time reporting
- Coordinate global project steering committee meetings (both virtually and face-to-face) alongside the divisional leadership team and the project teams, coordinating all logistical aspects and assisting with facilitation
- Provide regular trainings for project team members and managers, and make continual improvements to project management tool
- Plan, define and drive data compilation for recurring financial processes, such as the annual budget process and quarterly business reviews in collaboration with the finance business partners
- Create, maintain and develop business intelligence reports from PPMPro using tools such as PowerBI
- Support project leaders with adequate templates, tools and checklists
- Support Program Management Office (PMO) Director and other relevant collaborators with project portfolio business intelligence and analytics
Who we are looking for:
- Fluent in both English and Swedish
- A degree in Engineering or another technical or scientific subject; or equivalent work experience & skills
- Some prior exposure to project or portfolio management, and knowledge of project management methodologies and models preferred
- Some understanding of project financial planning
- Analytical mindset – able to draw conclusions and make decisions based on data. An advanced level of Microsoft Excel and some experience with PowerBi preferred
- Excited by a role focused on working with data and analytics
- Experience with IT systems such as SAP, MS Office, PowerBI and PPM Pro all of value
- A supportive and service-oriented personality, happy to help others and resolve problems
- Bonus: knowledge about In vitro diagnostics (IVD) regulations and guidelines and understanding of quality systems requirements (ISO 13485 and QSR)
