Your role in financial oversight is crucial to nurturing our culture of trust and security within our company. By managing finances with precision and timeliness, you directly contribute to maintaining this trust. Your work involves key interactions with our accounting firm, managing payroll, and collaborating with internal leaders including the head of people, C-level executives, and founders. Ensuring that all financial documents are submitted on time each month is vital. Your commitment to prompt and accurate financial management makes you an essential pillar of trust in our company, highlighting the significant impact of your role on our success and integrity.

Here are the key responsibilities in a nutshell:

  • Financial oversight is the cornerstone of this role:
With payroll as a pivotal element, you’ll be at the helm of our financial operations, managing accounts payable and receivable with a keen eye for compliance and efficiency. Your proficiency in numbers will be invaluable in budgeting, generating financial reports, and refining processes, ensuring the smooth and dependable flow of our financial activities.

  • Office management: You’ll be the go-to person ensuring that everything, from the physical space to software subscriptions, runs without a hitch. Whether it’s coordinating travel arrangements, managing vendor relationships, or playing a pivotal role in organizing company events, your work ensures our office is not just a place to work but a space where creativity and collaboration flourish.

  • HR support: Beyond numbers and logistics, you’ll get to provide a warm welcome to new hires, assisting in their onboarding and integration into our community. Handling HR and payroll inquiries, you’ll be a key support pillar for our team, ensuring they have what they need to succeed.

Your onboarding

Joining us for this 7-month parental leave cover role, you’ll be warmly welcomed and supported. While we’re keen on seeing you take charge of your financial responsibilities swiftly, our team is here to help navigate your journey with us:

  • Your onboarding will be personally overseen by our founder, Jimmy.

  • Paul, who’s currently excelling in this hybrid role and preparing for his parental leave will provide you with his insights and guidance in the beginning.

  • On the HR side, Chloe, our Head of People, will be your go-to for any queries or support.

What does your success look like during your 7-month stint with us?

Already within the first 30 days of your journey as Office & Finance Administrator at Refined, you will take full ownership of the payroll process for both Finland and Sweden, ensuring our team members are compensated accurately and punctually. Your adept handling of accounts payable and receivable tasks will keep our financial operations smooth and reliable.

A significant part of your role will involve planning for an upcoming company event in October, from managing travel bookings to securing venues and accommodations, setting the stage for a memorable experience. As the company week unfolds, your efforts will culminate in a vibrant showcase of collaboration and team spirit, bringing together our Helsinki and Malmö offices.

By the end of your seven-month stint with Refined, your contributions will hopefully have enhanced our operational excellence and workplace culture. This role is an opportunity for someone with a knack for organization, a passion for team spirit, and an interest in finance to make a tangible impact, learn, and grow.
