The Team
The Capital Markets organization at Zinqular is integral to our ability to raise and optimize capital across our investment portfolio. This team collaborates closely with our client’s solutions team, investment professionals and leadership to structure financing solutions that support our strategic objectives. They are responsible for maintaining relationships with a diverse network of financial institutions, investors, and other stakeholders to ensure the firm’s capital needs are met in a cost-effective and timely manner. The team also works cross-functionally to deliver exceptional client service and maximize investor engagement.
Role Overview
The Managing Director of Capital Formation & Investor Relations is responsible for driving the firm’s capital-raising activities, strengthening investor relationships, and maintaining a broad network within the institutional investment community. You will lead fundraising initiatives across multiple strategies, with a focus on building meaningful partnerships that align with our firm’s strategic objectives.
To be successful, you will develop a deep understanding of the firm’s investment and operational capabilities, service offerings, culture and vision, regulatory and supervisory landscape. You will need to build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal teams.
Reporting Relationships
- Reports to: Global Head of Capital Markets
- Direct Reports: Director Investor Relations, Director Clients & Partner Solutions, Analysts, and other team members within the Capital Markets unit
- Collaborates with: Senior Investment Professionals, Portfolio Management Team, Legal and Compliance Team, Investor Relations, and External Advisors
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership and Development
- Lead the Team: Guide, mentor, and develop the Capital Formation and Investor Relations team, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Promote Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment that promotes idea-sharing and innovation.
- Set Performance Standards: Establish and uphold performance standards, providing constructive feedback and recognizing high performance.
2. Fundraising Leadership
- Lead Initiatives: Develop and execute strategies for capital-raising across a range of investor channels, with a focus on institutional and corporate investors.
- Identify Opportunities: Research and analyze market trends to identify new fundraising opportunities and channels.
- Collaborate on Products: Work with internal teams to design and position investment products that align with market demand and investor interests.
3. Investor Relationship Management
- Nurture Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with current investors, enhancing their experience and engagement.
- Expand Network: Proactively develop relationships with potential investors, establishing our firm as a trusted partner.
- Presenting Opportunities: Communicate investment strategies and portfolio updates effectively, ensuring clear understanding of value propositions.
4. Strategic Partnerships
- Develop Alliances: Seek and develop strategic partnerships that align with our growth strategy and contribute to long-term firm goals.
- Engage Industry Experts: Partner with thought leaders and industry experts to keep the firm’s offerings relevant and innovative.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with stakeholders to ensure alignment on shared objectives and maximize partnership outcomes.
5. Market Analysis and Insight
- Research Trends: Continuously monitor market trends and developments, particularly within the private equity and institutional investment spaces.
- Analyze Competitor Activity: Assess competitor strategies and identify ways to differentiate our firm in a competitive market.
- Position Strategically: Use insights to refine the firm’s positioning and value proposition in fundraising campaigns.
6. Team Leadership and Development
- Lead the Team: Guide, mentor, and develop the Capital Formation and Investor Relations team, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

Qualifications
1. Industry Experience
- Background: 10+ years of experience in capital formation, fundraising, or investor relations, ideally within private equity or asset management.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of private equity structures, investor requirements, and sector-specific trends.
- Relationship Management: Proven track record of building relationships with diverse investor types.
2. Education
- Bachelor’s Degree: Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Preferred Qualifications: MBA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation (but not required).
- Continuous Learning: Ongoing commitment to professional development in areas of finance and investment management.
3. Key Skills
- Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to engage investors across levels.
- Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, market research, and competitive dynamics.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills to inspire teams and align them with strategic goals.
