Global Project Manager till Chiesi

Chiesi is looking to recruit a Global Project Manager to be part of the Chiesi R&D Project Management team.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for coordinating the project teams in translating the project strategy into an overall cross functional integrated plan and for providing routine base update of project status. You will be a subject matter expert of Project management in the organization that has an impact on the coordination of a product or set of products life, at all stages of the product lifecycle.

Our Project teams represent a fundamental asset for the business. R&D and non-R&D functions are represented, including discovery and preclinical research, chemical manufacturing and controls, drug delivery technology, clinical development, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, intellectual property, quality assurance, R&D project and portfolio management, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Market Access, HEOR and more.

As a Global Project Manager, you will work on projects from Discovery to Life-Cycle Management, in one or more of our three therapeutic areas.

Main Responsibilities include:
  • Define and maintain updated a clear, integrated, cross-functional project plan, which encompasses product lifecycle, including post approval life cycle management, challenging functional experts, and always fully aligned with the Therapeutic Area (TA)
  • Coordinate project team in the definition of project risk profile and following mitigation actions, integrate them in the overall project plan
  • Contribute to the definition of project budgets, monitor and challenge the project spending to align implementation with TA/product strategy
  • Facilitate the project governance process by supporting core team in the definition and maintenance of the project documents
  • Facilitate and identify deadlocks and delay driving consensus among team members, underline roadblocks when required
  • Facilitate the definition of priorities within the project budget across all involved functions in order to secure proper project delivery
  • Together with Global Project Leaders (GPL) and Development Leaders (DL) define project objectives, critical milestones according to project scope, roles & responsibilities
  • Combine domain expertise in order to develop and translate in feasible development plan the proposed strategic options to make the best trade-off decisions for Chiesi, global value and risk profile and proactively coordinate project execution
  • Accountable for monitoring the project progression against key project milestones and budget baseline, and for and communicating project status to core team and main stakeholders on a regularly scheduled basis
  • Accountable for communication of development plan to the R&D governance bodies.
  • Promote the project management culture and tools within and outside the company, and the development of lean processes and tools to ensure that projects are executed effectively and efficiently and ensure that current project governance processes are followed

Your profile

Experience Required
– At least 5 years’ experience in the product development area, even better in development of new product
– Experience navigating in highly matrixed environments, with proven track record in managing cross-functional and multicultural teams, resilient, flexible and fast-learner
– Experience in leading team’s dynamics and working through conflict

– Degree in a Life Science or Economic or management Engineering subject
– Certification as Project Management Professional through an international certification (PMI, Prince2) is considered a plus

– Fluent in English

Technical Skills
– Knowledge and experience of working with Project Management tools and processes
– Strong ability to synthesize complex and diverse inputs to a problem, and drive and accelerate critical decisions to recommend solutions/ preferred options
– Strong communications and presentation skills, including written and oral communication of executive level information
– Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Other project management software knowledge is a preference criteria
