The interest for flight simulation is soaring and so are we! Navigraph is currently looking for a financial assistant to join our team in Gamla Stan, Stockholm. This is a great opportunity for someone who has previous experience administrative tasks in a mid-size company. You will get ample support from management and external consultants to get settled and quite soon you will play an important part in an exciting company with a group of great colleagues.
About Navigraph
Navigraph is a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) company serving the international flight simulator community with charts, navigation data, flight planning services, and training material. Thousands of subscribers worldwide use Navigraph services in desktop and console flight simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, and Prepar3D. Navigraph users fly for entertainment, curiosity, and possibly with the dream of one day becoming a pilot. Many active pilots also use Navigraph services because of their love for aviation.
Navigraph was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Stockholm. The team consists of 35 individuals with varying backgrounds in software development, aviation, marketing, and content creation. About two-thirds live near the Stockholm office, whereas the rest are based in countries such as the US, Canada, Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic. The office language is English. Because of the rapid technical development of flight simulators and growing interest in aviation Navigraph has experienced a formidable growth over the past few years. Navigraph is still run and managed by its founders Magnus Axholt (CEO) and Stephen O’Connell (CTO). Tasks and Responsibilities
As a Financial Assistant at Navigraph, you will handle administrative tasks in finance and HR. While the work requires a lot of personal responsibility, you will also be part of a bigger team that interacts with consultants at Ernst & Young for accounting services and payroll expertise, and with Nordea for pension and staff benefits.
The financial year at Navigraph starts July 1 and ends June 30. Most reporting and activities occur periodically in monthly intervals or longer, which gives a lot of time to plan and structure recurring tasks. Examples of monthly recurring tasks are payroll processing, filing and settling taxes, preparing and submitting monthly reports, etc. You will also be given ad hoc tasks, which require you to be flexible with your time management, such as responding to employees regarding salary, benefits, and insurance questions; handling VISA extensions; handling long-term sick leave reports; and preparing finance reports.
As a financial assistant at Navigraph, you will be performing the following tasks:
- Accounts Payable Management and Invoice Processing: Ensure all invoices from consultants, suppliers, and services are registered and paid.
- Expense Tracking: Compiling and organizing receipts, invoices, and other supporting documents to be sent to accounting.
- Payroll Administration: Manage and process payroll, and handle payroll exceptions such as sick and parental leave.
- Tax Filing and Settlement: File and pay monthly and quarterly taxes and fees, such as payroll tax and European VAT on digital services (MOSS).
- External Reporting: Submit reports to Försäkringskassan, FORA, SCB, and insurance companies, among others.
- Internal Reporting: Maintain actuals and prepare ad hoc reports for some special events.
- Documentation: Document and maintain procedures.
- Employee Support: Provide first line of contact for employees regarding salary, benefits, and insurance; and liaison for VISA and relocation services, and long-term sick leaves.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English
- University degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field
- Experience in administration roles, including most of the tasks mentioned above
