The sites produce daily high-quality sports content and have a combined reach of over nine million monthly visits from dedicated Swedish sports enthusiasts.

ABOUT FOTBOLLDIREKT
Fotbolldirekt.se is a leading Swedish football media outlet covering news and reports from national as well as international football. The website has around 0.4 million unique visitors per month and monetizes through advertising and subscriptions. Here you will work closely with an experienced and creative editorial team of five and close to the other Sweden based BC-Brands and sites as well as our European editorial network of brands and colleagues.

THE ROLE
Your key objectives will be the production of high quality editorial sports content (written, audio and visual) for Fotbolldirekt.se, its social media platforms and any media partners with a focus on producing daily sports news and editorial content. Also providing quality content for upcoming sports events, researching, planning and carrying out interviews and features as well as contributing to and improving the quality and optimisation of content across the entire site. Working from our new office in Stockholm, (with a flexible work from home policy), you will become part of a highly skilled and dedicated team, focusing on the exciting Swedish and European market.

AS OUR EDITOR AND REPORTER YOU WILL

  • Produce daily editorial content concerning the latest news in football

  • Produce content for upcoming major sports events with a primary focus on Swedish and European Leagues and National team in men’s and women’s football

  • Participate in video and audio media production and become a recognised face in the Fotbolldirekt community

  • Design and execution of football content plans

  • Produce content with consideration to both its marketability via social media and email campaigns as well as its adaptability to video and audio platforms

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Fotbolldirekt’s football content

  • Create briefs and support in-house and external writers in creating content

  • Manage a content calendar to ensure we nail the biggest sporting events and happenings

  • Image and video editing, using software or tools such as PhotoShop and Premier Pro

  • Ensure the highest editorial standards in the content we create

  • Keep up to date with the latest news in the world of football and the sports industry in general

  • Create new content based on business and market priorities

  • Feel motivated to be working evenings and weekends covering events/games and be out on the field

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Has experience of creating editorial football content, written and visual

  • Has a keen instinct and talent for discovering or identifying interesting and relevant news or information recognizing what is newsworthy

  • Has knowledge of Swedish and European football and a feeling for the news

  • Has a strong knowledge of sports in general

  • Has experience in creating briefs and supporting writers to create this content

  • Is passionate about producing great content that delivers on its objectives

  • Is proactive and passionate about reaching goals

  • Is a motivated, and self-reliant team member that takes own initiative and manages

  • Preferably has a network of accessible contacts

  • Has experience of working as a sports journalist and is used to working with digital platforms, packaging, providing and addressing written, audio and visual content on all platforms

  • Feel motivated to be working evenings/weekends covering games/matches and be out on the field

BC WIDE COLLABORATION

  • Participation in broadcasting projects, both video and audio

  • Participation in PR projects including interviewing sports personalities

  • Liaise with commercial teams in order to best monetise the content produced

  • Participate in BC wide meetings concerning the development and direction of the news section

  • Editing and preparing BC-crossover content
