emagine is looking for a Build and Tooling Engineer to our amazing gaming client. 

Start: August

Length: 12 months

Location: In Stockholm 2-3 days per week

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Build and Tooling Engineer to join us in developing the universe of our game. This is a full time-role based in Stockholm with a hybrid remote working model. We collaborate closely within and across disciplines as well as with our partner studios in the UK and Sweden.

As a Build and Tooling Engineer you will be part of the team which is responsible for the developer experience for our project, which consists of build engineers, tooling engineers and C++ developers. This team is responsible for our build pipelines, test automation infrastructure, and tooling for our game development teams.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working across all these areas with expertise in at least one area, with a preference for automated testing. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience leading the implementation of test automation infrastructure. Game industry experience is a bonus, but not a strict requirement.

What you will do

• Keep our pipelines alive and always online, such as test, builds and build distribution.

• Expand our automated testing capabilities for the organization as a while

• Develop the capabilities of our build and test pipelines with new features and more

functionality.

• Simplify workflow process for the game team with both technical and practice improvements

• Improve build times and reduce other sources of friction for engineers across the project

• Support game team with our Github integration

Requirements

• You have experience working in a modern CI/CD development environment using Github, distributed build pipeline and the engineering practices which make this work

• Extensive experience with developing tooling and automation, along with maintaining build and test pipeline availability

• Experience leading the development of test automation infrastructure and tooling

• Comfortable working in a collaborative and self-driven team which identifies problems to solve and implements solutions with a high degree of trust and autonomy

• Strong communicative skills and comfortable engaging with a wide range of engineers and stakeholders, and can represent both possibilities and challenges in technical choices

• You have experience helping teams to deliver timely, high-quality products

• You have experience working with C++ and a few more languages (such as Python, C#, …).
