The team develop and operates a cloud-based application – Operational Data Store (ODS) – which stores booking and flight related data. The solution exposes Rest APIs and sends events to clients. The solution is used both to support our SAS App as well as our internal App for flight deck and cabin crew with real-time information. Another important use case is to support customer communication such as check-in, delays, and cancellations. To continue our transformation journey and enable more ODS capabilities we are looking for a back-end developer to bring further competence, and skills to our team.
In This Role Your Main Responsibilities Will Be To
- Understand needs from stakeholders and translate then into working solutions
- Secure application compliance with regulations and SAS IT security
- Understand when and how to make performance optimizations and trade-offs
- Design architecture and solutions based on MVP model that can scale to enterprise solutions
- Define processes with the team to secure high quality and high performing digital product
- Coach, code review and pair programming with other developers
- Proactively suggest digital solutions that can help the organization meet its goals
Main Tech Skills And Competence
- 5 years of experience working as a back-end developer
- Proficiency with Node.js, XML and Document/NoSQL Databases (Cosmos)
- Hands-on experience with Cloud platform (preferably Azure), specifically using resources like:
- queues
- blob-storage
- container/kubernetes services (like AKS or EKS)
- messaging services
- “serverless” functions
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Comfortable with the agile framework
- Familiarity with Typescript and Java Spring Boot
The below skills are a plus (but not mandatory)
- Event driven architecture
- Unit tests and test-driven development
- Shell script
- Azure API Management
Experiences With Tools But Not Limited To
- Git
- Azure Cloud Platform

- Kubernetes
