Hours: Part-time, up to 3 days/week – the potential for flexible full time

Location: Remote/Global

About the position

Liva Healthcare is looking for an experienced, empathetic and curious Health Writer to join our team. You will be in charge of writing engaging and research-based content within a broad range of health and behavioural change topics. The written content will support our team of highly dedicated Health Coaches in their delivery of relationship-focused, professional and caring coaching for the users of our programmes.

Besides doing background research and writing engaging, well-documented content, you as a Health Writer will routinely collaborate with editors and our design department, to ensure engaging and visually appealing content that is scientifically sound.

Professional qualifications

  • A minimum of a 2.1 in a health-related undergraduate degree – potentially even a Registered Health Professional, e.g. a nutritionist.
  • A science-based approach to research, and a commitment to a high standard of accuracy. Documented, professional writing experience is highly desirable – ideally a minimum of 1 year.
  • An integrated approach to health – your knowledge and approach should incorporate multiple areas of wellbeing. Knowledge about health behaviour change would be a clear advantage.
  • Tech-savvy – you use apps and computer-based systems like a pro.

Personal qualifications

  • Comfort with English at a native level – if you speak multiple languages, let us know!
  • Able to work collaboratively and patiently through multiple rounds of edits.
  • Able to juggle and balance multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and task management skills in an often-remote work environment via Slack and video calls.
  • Able to make time for remote meetings and virtual training.
  • Empathy for the reader, i.e. the users of our programme. Our target audience is those managing e.g. type 2 diabetes, obesity, etc., and those who seek to make meaningful and sustainable lifestyle changes.
  • Independent, self-motivated and highly organised.

Most importantly, your values should align with ours; you easily get along with colleagues from different backgrounds and cultures, and you have a drive to engage with an innovative company.

For your application (deadline 27th of November), please include:

  • Resume/CV
  • A cover letter
  • A short writing sample (max 500 words) within any health subject/area.
    It should cover:

    • A brief, engaging introduction to the subject
    • Why it can be difficult to make/break habits in this area
    • Tips/action plan on what can be done to make lasting behaviour change within the chosen area

The writing sample should be written for a reading age of around 11-13.

Examples of previous work are highly desired as well.

Applications will be reviewed as received, in order to fill this post as soon as possible.
