About the Role

The position is based in Stockholm at our headquarters at Riddarholmen. As Commercial Legal Counsel at Storytel, you will support the organization with advice on various legal matters with focus on commercial agreements (mainly relating to tech and IT), GDPR, marketing and consumer law and intellectual property law. The work will entail review and drafting of licencing agreements, consumer end user terms, commercial partnership agreements, marketing agreements, support and advice in tech/product development projects, GDPR and other regulatory matters in the area, etc. As part of the legal team, you will also encounter many other fields of law and should be comfortable in investigating and advising in areas of law outside your main area of expertise.

About the Team

As Commercial Legal Counsel you will join Storytel’s dynamic legal team that supports the entire Storytel Group and reports to the General Counsel.

About You

To be successful in this role we believe that you have

• Swedish LL.M (Jur. kand./Juristexamen) or international equivalent such as J.D. degree

• 3 + years of law firm and/or solid in-house lawyer experience with main focus on commercial agreements, IT contracts, consumer law and GDPR as well as marketing law and intellectual property law (mainly copyright)

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in the Swedish and English languages

• Excellent analytical skills

• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in stressful and/or ambiguous situations, to manage multiple projects at once and to follow through and meet deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills, a genuine team-player mindset and being able to work independently within cross-functional teams.

• Strong business judgment, ability to think strategically and to give hands-on practical advice by communicating complicated legal matters in a clear and easily understood manner to non-legal colleagues, constitute basic requirements.
